I can't turn the alarm feature off on the calendar. Everytime I input an appointment, I see the clock face, then alarm bell comes up. The first letter that I go to type in doesn't show up unless I hit the space bar first. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Peechee,

Funnily enough, I would love that feature, I have been reduced to writing a script to set the alarm.

I have absolutely no idea why this should be so, I imagine it is a registry entry that has become corrupted.

I don't suggest a re-install, but are you competent when it comes to registry hacking?
If you could export that branch of the registry we could examine it as a text file and then create a registry switch to turn it off and on!
If anyone else has ideas please feel free to suggest them.

if you tell me where to go in the registry I will copy the info to this thread. I know how to get into the registry but not sure what I'm looking for here.

Dear Peechee,

It is late here (11:30 GMT) and I am going to see my daughter in Glasgow for a long weekend.
I will discuss this on Wednesday next when I return.
I have to locate the relevant 'Hive' in the registry myself first before I can advise you.
