Hi

I have searched this forum and Starfish site for answers but so far I have found no answers. Starfish site simply points out that SK99 is pre Win 2000 software so dont expect it work. I have looked at other solution offered for Win98, like changing the "LastUpdate date" in *init file but nothing seems to work. I am also testing SK98 and that is working OK, as is SK2. I am keen to use the 99 version, opens faster, synchronises well with Palm, etc. etc. Any ideas please.

paul

Dear Paul,
sdk98 also syncs with palm go to Tools|Synchronise|TrueSync and the first time you do you are offered the option to install trusync. Check the Starfish site for any problems with TruSync in the SDK98 FAQs.
Hope this helps
Regards Jim
p.s. See the Starfish site for the SDK98 Patch for Invalid Mast error.

Hi Jim

Thanks for your reply, even though it implies that there is no hope for SK99. I am aware that SK98 synchronises with Palm, however I did not test it as yet, as I did not want to install SK98 on the same machine in case there is any possibility of a conflict between the 2 versions. Oh well, looks like it will be SK98. Also let me say that your work on this forum is impressive - thank you. What I find interesting is that some of the posters that had SK99 installed on WIN2000 did not mention that they have the forwarding problem.

Kind regards

Paul

Thanks very much Paul for the compliment, it is always nice to get them.
I do like sidekick as a program and I am learning all the time from everybody here too, so what the heck!

I do suggest that you see if anyone has marked a thread that refers to SDK99 on Win2000 (for email notification) and then post an addendum to their post and they will be informed of it by email. (You never know, you might not be alone.)
Keep this thread marked too and if anyone feels like adding to it you'll hear...

If in the meantime I hear of anything then I'll post here.
The other way is to log on to Starfish support and click on the Inform me by email if this answer is updated and
It will give you an option to set up a user name and password so if that is updated you'll hear from them.
HTH

Also to Paul
You can have all versions of Sidekick installed on the same machine and have the same Cardfiles and calendars open in them all too just don't open them at the same time and you should have no problems.

Alarm bells PAUL (pb2525)
and whoever else was listening to my previous Post

YOU MAY CORRUPT A SDK95 INTERNET SIDEKICK OR SDK98 CALENDAR IF IT IS OPENED IN SIDEKICK 2.0 ....

There is no Daylight Saving Timein SK2

and apologies for that innacuracy

Sidekick 99 does forward todo items with win xp (professional) - again I might add. I used it for many years until win 2k made it less useful.

Try it on XP and enjoy.

Martin

Hi Martin

Thanks for the heads up on XP. I do intend to move to it in the near future. However I did find rather a painless way to forward the items in Win2000.

Method 1: do not shut down the workstation - items forward just fine.

Method 2: reopen the same calendar ie, with SideKick opened and items not forwarded go to file - open calendar and open the same calendar - items get forwarded.

Hope this might help someone.
