Outlook 2003 has no filters/conversion utilities for Sidekick 98 and the calendar can't be exported.

Therefor, I am currently attempting to move my Sidekick 98 Calendar to Outlook 2003 (XP) via Lotus Organizer. The first try ended in disaster when Organizer didn't recognize "end of appointment times" and extended each to the end of the day. I will try again by playing with tools-calendar-preferences in Sidekick.

Because it takes almost 2 hours to convert the calendar data just from from Sidekick to Lotus Organizer, this project may take a while to perfect. I will keep the site informed but would appreciate any input.

First pieces of info from research: It is necessary to use the older Organizer 5+, not 6+ that Outlook won't import. Further, it is necessary to get the Lotus Smartsuite Disk (not just the Organizer or Smartsuite program from the internet) because the Randsoft Upgrade must be installed from the EXTRAS segment of the disk.

I would really appreciate feedback from anyone trying this total conversion process.

Dead end, so far. Outlook will import a Lotus calendar quickly and easily. But I can't get the "end times" to work going from Sidekick to Lotus. All events block space until the end of the day.

Any experience or thoughts?

Dear Peter,
Have you tried in tools|preferences selecting
display appointment starting and ending time (then it doesn't matter what intervals) On the Daily Tab, and then selecting
appts. w/Duration
in the Weekly and Monthly tabs?
And trying combinations of the above?
The other thing to fiddle with, would be
1. Setting the intervals on the calendar to 1 hour or to the same as the default for the Lotus Organizer
2. Also the length of the Day to the full 24 hours or as near as you can get to it (1am-11pm).
Only suggestions but it would appear the problem is to do with the duration of the appointments...

Jim: Thanks for your suggestions. I tried several before finding out from an expert in one of the Lotus forums that there is a glitch in the conversion utility provided by Lotus. It doesn't pick up the ending times no matter what one does to the SK settings.

I'm looking into some other possibilities. I did determine that if you can get the Organizer calendar, it goes into Outlook quickly and easily.

More when I figure out what to do with the ending times.

Dear Peter:
See the following Thread:
thread807-405076
and especially the last post today that gives you a download site for TruSync Desktop and at that site there are accessors for Lotus Organizer and Outlook 2000 and Sidekick98
The site address at the moment is:
tho I believe the person:
Netrol needs the space at that site so if it is changed I will put the new location in the
