we have a saleman who usses sidekick on a daily basses. he had added a password and forgot it . i have found the forum to reset it but now it will cause an error for 'SIDEKICK HAS CAUSED A GENERAL FAULT PROTECTION IN MODULE AT 0002:84A0' and then it shuts down. he has used this tprogram with XP for years with no problems. i have managed to get a copy of sidekick 95 and installed it onto another pc to use as a test but as soon as it trys to load it gives me a general fault protection error. i have set the program on both pc to run under normal and to run under win 95 settings. anybody know what s needed or if need be we have others using sidekick 98 with patch . can we salvage the database from sidekick 95 and insert it into 98. thanks

Dear sirryche,

It sounds like the error is in the cardfile but you could install Sidekick98 on the same computer and open the cardfile in that program.
First though I would suggest that you find the working directory of Sidekick95 and Delete any .SKTmp or Untitled Cardfiles in that directory as Sidekick may be trying to load them on startup.
