i discovered that my mobo supports sideband addressing, from reports from rivatuner and 3dmark 2001 SE. but this feature is disabled. when i force an enable with rivatuner my comp boots up fine (so my mobo probably does support it) but games crash and kick me out back to windows when i load any 3d graphics (generally after a minute or so). does the gpu have to support it too? or do i only have to have a compliant mobo to activate this feature?

setting:
-geforce3 ti200 64mb on agp4x
-compaq proprietary mobo (dont know exact model, but i could provide it upon request)
-win2k pro
-latest drivers, directx, and whatever other updates offered on nvidia + windows update

help would be greatly appreciated - i payed for this feature, so i wanna use it. please ask for any missing info or clarifications.

Sideband Addressing has been known to cause issues with hangs and freezes with systems.

It seems real hit and miss who can and cannot use it.

Not sure what else to tell you other than if you system hangs with it, don't try using it.

I have one system it works with and I don't notice any real graphics performance increase with it.

Cheers!
