side scroller fom xml

hi,

anyone know of a good tutorial that shows how to make a tickertape side [right to left] scroller that gets its data from a db, probly using an xml file as the input ?

this will be within a flash page not html

have searched but cant find what i am looking for

thanks for your reply - what a great site

i have tried a few things to put the ticker in my fla project - how is it done?

- i tried including xml_ticker.as on its own layer

#include "xml_ticker.as"

- tried creating a new symbol including the above line
and put into a keyframe

- tried copying all the code from the .as file into a symbol

this is probably easy stuff to you but am still learning!

hi - if i create a new flash doc with one frame and include the file on the first frame i can get it to run

but how would you include the file as a movie clip symbol?
so i can move it about the page

havent got any space for the fla at the moment
