About a week ago our PDC crashed and we had to re-load the operating system, now our Exchange box will not recognize our server. I have been told it is because the SID number has changed and of course i am wondering if there is some way to work around this and get these two machines to talk to each other again.

P.S. I thank you all very much.

I've never tried this - you should consider testing this in a lab first, but perhaps unjoining exchange server from the domain (into a workgroup or whatever) and then REjoining the domain would help fix this.

Anyone else have ideas on this possibility...

Again, I've never done it, please test it before you put this in production...

Alicia is right. You will need to remove and re-add every NT/2000 system you have from/to the domain. This isn't the sort of thing you need to worry about testing first. If you rebuilt your PDC without restoring the registry from backup afterwards, you pretty much just built a new domain, and your servers need to be added to it.
