I don't know if this is already solved but a couple of weeks ago I had this problem that the computer didn't shutdown itself automatically when I clicked "Shutdown", and many people asked the same. I got it work just by going "Control panel"-"Power options"-"APM" and put a tick to "Enable Advanced Power Management support".
