Dear all,

when stopping a r/3 system, I learn that the correct sequence would be stopping SAP service first. Then we stop the database server, that is to stop the MSSQL service, then only we power off the system. Now my question here is when the r/3 is implemented in a cluster enviroment, in which we have two nodes, say node a for the central instance and node b for the database instance. What are the shut down sequences for it? Use the cluster administrator to shut down the node first (which node?) then power off the system? Which node has to be shut down first? Consider a situation where there is black out and the system is running on UPS, and when the UPS times out, it will automatically shuts down the server. Which node, or services or ... should be stop first, and the sequence? Please advise.

Thank you and regards

Hello,

The best way is still stopping the central instance on node A and then the database on node 2.
Once R3 and DB are stopped you can power off your servers.
