Question? on NT I have consistently set my database on a remote server to sleep at 1:55am in order to start the backup at 2:00. The backup fails with errors that the database is busy. When I log into the the server the next morning the sleep time has reverted back to what it was originally. HELP! I have tried everything to change the time and it keeps reverting back. Am i not saving it properly?

Can you not have the Database running as a service? Then in backup exec under the job you have created there is an option
to run a comand before
and after backup
Then all you would have to do is enter
net stop "your service name" (before backup)
and
net start "your service name" (after backup)

problem solved.... Njoy!
