Since loading 7.0 Acrobat Professional, if I open an existing file in Pagemaker 7 and try to amend it, Pagemaker closes down, its appears to be alright with files created since loading Acrobat.
I have tried downloading patches 7.0.1 and 7.0.1a but this has not helped.
Any ideas

Hi, SOG61,

I haven't yet moved to AA7, but with AA6 Adobe's advice was to install PM7 AFTER AA6.

On this FAQ page:
I'd suggest substituting AA7 for where it reads AA6

So try re-installing PM7.
Here's some tips about re-installing PM:

Hi BigJohnD
I have deleted PM7, defragged hardrive and reloaded PM7 etc as you mentioned, No luck, as soon as I open old files PM shuts down, so as my PM7 is an upgrade from 6.5, I started again, loaded 6.5, and then upgraded to 7.0 to see if this would work. I can open faulty old PM7 files in 6.5 and save as new file but even 6.5 shuts down before I can do anything else.
As this problem only started since loading all of Adobe Creative Suite 2, I think I might have to try by deleting all of Adobe and starting again with just Pagemaker to see if that clears the problem, especially as I use PM daily and then perhaps build back a prog at a time

my PM7 is an upgrade from 6.5,
That's not relevant - the only difference is the installer which requires evidence of an existing Licence Number for PM6.5 (or earlier). PM7 does not "upgrade" PM6.5 - it is an independent freestanding copy of PM7.

PM6.5 and PM7 can co-exist as two separate and discrete applications. In fact. PM5, PM6.5 and PM7 can co-exist:

Ah! There have been numerous similar reports in AdobeForums when Illustrator CS2 has been installed.

Thanks BigJohnD, I have found that by deleting some of the many fonts I have, and deactivating some more, everything is now back up and working again

Many thanks for your valuable assistance

Ah! Fonts! PM can be sensitive to fonts if there's too many.
Thanks for letting me know.
