Hi,
I have a computer Compaq 16 MB RAM at home, and when I work after a certain time I hear a bad noise, in my computer and the computer freezes after a certain time like 5 minutes I can continous to work, but some time the computer shutdown itseft and restarted. And sometime when it restarting it is the "Mode sans echec" or the other time it can not start and show the message "Disk error". No disket is inside the computer, I am very worry because perhaps the system can not detect the hard disk.
Now the computer doesn't work.
I don't know if it is a hardware problem or a software problem, and what I can I do to resolve it.

Bad noises, can't find the disk...doesn't look good for your Hard Drive unfortunately.

Do you have another hard drive available to you, that you could setup ?

No, unfortunaly I do not have a hard drive available. But I am not sure that it is a hard drive problem. Perhaps something is disconnected inside or the fan,or I do know. I am thinking to reinstall the system

bad noise could be a fan problem causing to overheat... but doesnt seem to go along with the disk error... i believe Grenage is right.... but if you dont care to reinstall to give it a whirl...but i would say that your gonna be looking for a harddrive real soon
