Hi all,

My 500v2 control unit is ver 9.1.1. Should I shutdown the UC before shutdown of control unit?

Extensions on BD2 have static and can not access secondary dial tone after pressing 9. This began after a thunderstorm. I was going to try shutdown first before replacing digital card in BD2.

Thanks

yes, definitely shut down the UCM first. I had 2 die on me when power was just removed.

Issuing a shutdown command from the Manager application (to perform a polite shutdown) should correctly shutdown the UCM in the process.

As west has stated do not simply remove power

This began after a thunderstorm.
If you think the system ha been damaged in a thunderstorm it would be wiser to replace the whole system, you cannot be sure that no other components have not been damaged/weakened & are likely to fail shortly because of this.

Now is the time to have it all replaced whilst it can all be placed on the same insurance claim.
