Does anyone know if the Shutdown Event tracker prevents proper shutdown of a server when the shutdown is initiated by a UPS (APC Back-UPS XS 1000).
I've got a SBS 2003 and a brand new UPS. The software is installed and configured to shut the server down after 4 minutes of no power. There is an estimated 20 minutes of run time. The battery was fully charged and the power went off in the building.
But.... when the server was started it came up with the "unexplained shutdown" prompt AND when turned on, the UPS was out of battery power.
So, I'm thinking that the server didn't shut down properly and drained all the UPS battery power.
I was thinking of turning off the shutdown tracker. Any experience with this?
