Curtrent inventory is slot(s) 1-2 800 GS/LS, 3 024, 4 MM and 5 is an empty slot.

The plan is to do the the switch test by adding the PRI to slot 5. Config and test using new DIDs. Then the final port a few days later and at that point I have to pull an 800 and install an 016 ETR (ETR was cheaper than the TTR and I only need 2 analog ports) for their FAX machines as those numners will be on the PRI.

So I know this will play havoc with the numbering. If I install the 016 into slot 2 does that change the extension numbering on the 024 in slot 3? If so then the MM has to be moved into slot 5 and the 016 into slot 4 I assume. Then the 100 DS1 would go into slot 2. At this point I need to do a system renumber, correct? Board? Both?

So does that only leave me with changing the line members for the VM group which won't matter anyway since the lines will be replaced by the PRI. At this point do I need to re-assign the lines in the PRI config? I guess I need to know if the PRI line numbers start after the last trunk number which at this point would be 809.

The final config would be slot 1 800, 2 100 DS1, 3 024, 4 016 and 5 MM.

I just have no other way to do it unfortunately.

Before I can give additional advice here, I need to know the 617 Number of the 100-D Module.

I need to know the following:

617 SOME LETTER 15.

The "SOME LETTER" is the important thing here.

Yeah I was reading your posts about that magic number in other threads. The 100 DS1 is on order and I should have it on the 11th.

If you do it the way you are proposing, I would suggest putting the 016 in SLOT 5, that way you don't change any Extension Programming.

Yes, a BOARD Renumber would be required.

Are you planning on putting the 100-D into Slot 2 before the cut over?

If you are, be sure to remove all appearances of any of the Lines from Slot 2 (800) from all POOLS and EXTENSIONS before you start.

A Board Renumber would be required once you put the 100-D in.

OK, I can do that for the final config. My problem is I only have one slot free and I cannot remove the 800 in slot 2 until after cutover. From the 12th to the 17th the system must work as is. For switch testing the DS will be in slot 5. So I was wondering what to expect on cutover when I take the DS out of slot 5 and put it into slot 2. Does that mean I need to change the line config in step 6 of the FAQ? That step 6 has me confused. Am I designating "lines" which means I can make the 23 PRI channels anything or is there some sort of rule that they have to be a certain way?

how many lines in that 2nd 800 are in use, I would move the 800 to slot 5 & install the 100 in slot 2 program the pri before the cut,to test after the cut remove the 800 install the 016etr, either way the customer will have down time Unless you have a surrogate in your shop you can do everything before hand and keep down time to a minuend

Bob - I had not thought of that. Good idea! But 4 ports are in use on the second 800. Lines 809-812. If I put the 100 in slot 2 and the 800 in 5 will it change the existing line numbers? I know Merlinman has said that some boards won't work to the left of a 100-DS1 depending on the revision number.

yes line 809-812 will change to ( 833-841 800 slot 5 )temporary , as your pri will be 809 -832,

Ahhhh, OK. I got it. I'll just have to change the lines on the extensions and the VM group members. That should be easy enough. Then when the second 800 comes out I remove all assignments for 833-841.

How about getting another primary carrier, power supply, and processor for your circuit turn up and test. Install the 100D and your 016, program it up, test your circuit for in and outbound calling.

Once you have verified that the circuit works, and you learn your way around programming the inbound, you can do your install on the real system in one fell swoop.

Just be sure to do a backup to the PC card in the real system before you change ANYTHING, so you have a place to go back to.

I had thought of that. Actually I have a CPU, no carrier or PS. I am making little money on this so it wasn't in the budget.

You are all correct, of course. I am on a shoestring. Business is the pits. I can afford no luxuries. I don't get a lot of Magix or Legend work. This is the second in several years. I've DCd a few but that's it. I own a Partner system as I work on those all the time.

Hi Merlinman - the boards arrived today. The 100-DS1 is 617N15ML.

OK, good to know. The 016 will be in slot 5 and the PRI in slot 2 so we should be good.
