How do I take a big image and shrink it. When I use paint to make it small it looks blury. How do I do that in photoshop. Does it depend on if it is a jpg bmp or gif. Original image is jpg. Can somebody help me I want width=200 pixels and height =100pixels.

Look for an option that says "create thumbnail" or "image > resize"

You should be able to specify the reduced size, optionally keeping the same ratio (so the proportions of the image stay the same).

You must expect some loss of definition as you reduce the image size - you need to experiment with your image manipulation package's settings.

Paint is probably not a good tool for tis, but I'd think that Photoshop should do it (not used it, myself). One by one, the penguins steal my sanity. X-)

In the Image menu, there is a "Image resize" option. (don't choose canvas resize, that's something else)

It will turn out pretty good as long as you keep the same ratio (or at least close)

Also, after resizing the image go to

Filter-->Sharpen-->Sharpen

This should bring back some of the quality of your image. You can apply the Sharpen filter as may times as you want. Fool around with the other sharpen filters to see what they offer.
