Hi there,

I am pulling out fields from an Access DB using DSN and SQL.
I am using MIME type /application/vnd.ms-excel (or /csv) to call the data into Excel from an HTML table.

On the PC this works great but on the MAC it won't work at all. We're using Office 97 and MacOS 9.

Any help appreciated.

Michael

Are you sure that Excel 97 for MAC can read HTML tables. I do know that the first Microsoft Knowledge Base Article on displaying ASP results using Excel with MIME types specifically states that this applies only to MS Excel 2002, MS Excel 2000, and MS Excel 97 for Windows. They make a distinct note on MS Excel 97 for Windows only... My assumption would be that this means MS Excel 97 for MAC won't parse what you're trying to send it.

Go to the following page for more details.

The microsoft article number is Q199841

Hope this helps.

Hi Todd

Many thanks - this was my fear - I guess the client will need to upgrade their office version or get wise to using the PC's.

Thanks for your support.
