Hi all,

I have a field, amongst others, of text property showing a description of a file. within this field i store a large number of text describing this file.

Now when i display a list of files, togther with their description i would like to show the description with a number of max 6 lines! how can i do that! I know i can do it by substring a number of letters but that will not suffice!

Thanks in advance
Nick

do you store any line breaks or html breaks with the text?

yes, and i take your point entirely, but if on the other hand there are no line breaks then what should i do! That's where i found the problem!

Thanks Karver

You could explode() on full stops, not an entire line but possibly more elegant than truncating by character.
