Hi,

I'm currently working on Crystal Report 10 Professional edition, Oracle 8i as datasource, Oracle native driver as data access and found Show SQL Query is disabled in my report.

What I want to implement is to use union statement in SQL Query, seems the only way I know is edit SQL Query except use stored procedure.

I have checked related docs and still get no clue about it.

Any help will be great, Many thanks!

Ted

You can no longer use the 'Show SQL Query' window to edit the report's SQL as of CR 9. Possible workarounds are to build the report off of a Command, or create a view or stored procedure in the database that performs the union.

Just to expand on Dave's post, the ShoW SQL Query is still available in CR9 and 10, you just can't edit the SQL in it as you could before version 9. In order for Show SQL Query to be enabled, you have ot have a datasource for the report and a database object on the report somewhere.

Thanks a lot dave and Brian for your quick reply.

I did work on CR8.5 for long time on which I can edit sql query but new for CR10. One more thing, I didn't see Add command options for me, anything related with my CR edition or datasource?

Thanks,

Ted

You should have the SQL Command available to you in CR 10 Pro.

When you connect to your datasource, instead of navigating down to the tables, views, or SP's, there will an Add Command option directly underneath your datasource name.
