I do not want to open the users real or media player, I want to open one within the website either to the right of the picture or on its own page.

PLease help

thanks

You can, however the END USER always has control over how his/her browser works. You can embed the movie file to play in a window or html file, but if the user made it so that ALL media files open or is saved to their computer, yo uhave no control over that.

Making movies play in a webpage or forcing people to watch it while in a webpage is beyond stupid and you will alienate many non-highbandwidth visitors. I never force people to watch a video. ALWASY offer them to download it .

If you dont want ti downloaded, then dont offer it at all.

I do not recall saying they couldnt download it, By your answer I assume you do not know how to embed the movie.

Thanks

You can embed the movie in your web page but you can't make it play in a web page. The user still has to have a way to view it. Either way, your embeded flick is still going to have to use a helper application to view it. There's always a better way...

I never said that I didn't know how. Damn that is the basics of knowing html (embedding movies was common since HTML 3.0). All im saying is the final end result will always depend on the end user. If they can't view embeded media, there's nothing you can do about it.
