Hi All,

Is there a way (using VBA or otherwise) to get the photos attached to an e-mail to appear in the body of the e-mail.

We have just switched to Outlook 2003 and my bosses are really whinging about this not being available like their beloved Outlook Express.

I have seen some code which opens a 'Picture Attachment Helper' but would rather is emulate OE if possible.

Thanks for any help
John

Hi Ettienne,

yes the email is in HTML format. I am been searching the net for ages so I don't believe there is a setting in Outlook to allow this which is why I thought maybe some clever person has the knowledge to create something through VBA.

Thanks
John

I'm running Outlook 2003.

I just created a test email which was formatted as HTML.

In it I inserted an image (into the message area).

I used the menu items "Insert" and "Picture...".

What is the problem?

Tony

Yes, I am not quite understanding. It seems you want have the picture as BOTH attachment, and in the body.

Is this correct?

I use Outlook 2003, but unfortunately can not test this as messages as HTML (both incoming and outgoing) are not permitted on our network. Though you can insert an image into the body of a Rich Text format message using Insert Object.

Hi, thanks for your replies.

To explain: If I was to send an e-mail with the intention of the photo being in the body of the message I would indeed use 'Insert>Picture'.

The problem we are having is that many of our customers may send 20 photos in one go and all they have to do at the minute is select them all (In windows explorer) and right click>attach to e-mail. *This attaches photo but won't display in Outlook preview pane*

We cannot ask them to 'File>Insert' 20 times just to suit us as you can imagine their response!

I do have a workaround based on the following link, which although doesn't show the pictures in the preview pane at least lets the user open all photos in one go..

I think this solution will be acceptable to users.

thanks again
John
