I have a cisco router with its WAN interface connected to an MPLS enables network via a T1.

the output from a show interface serial 0/1 command includes the following...

Queueing Strategy: weighted fair
Output Queue: 0/1000/64/0 (size/max total/threshold/drops)
Reserved Conversations 1/1 (allocated/max allocated)
Availiable bandwidth 84 kilobits/sec

My question is what does the Availiable Bandwidth value represent?

What Cisco does with interfaces that are running some form of queueing is to only allocate 75% of available bandwidth to the queueing mechanism configured. It does this so that there is available capacity for routing protocol updates etc.

You can however still use the full 100% line rate as and when you need to.
