Show ext number on screen when idle 1

One of our techs let me know today he had seen a 5212 that was displaying ext # 101 on its LCD display below the data and time when the phone was idle.

Tech didnt know the Software version of the controller but its a new install so I would think its 9 something , controller is a CXi.

Does anyone know how this is achieved?

I could probably work it out , but we dont have access to the system as it isnt one of our customers

Turn on the Hotdesking option in the COS of the phone.

The Logged in Ext will display.

I've only seen this apply to 5212 sets. 5224 sets do not display the ext for example.

yup 5224 and 5324 don't display. they show hotdesk as a softkey...
