Should I use generic images as a placeholder?

I am working on my gallery website. I like the lightbox popups idea. I don't have all the images done yet. Should I use a few of the ones that I do have done on all the pages to see what the layout looks like or should I wait until I have the images all ready.

I'm thinking it is just a matter of changing the img tags when I do finish. Maybe I am being naive.

My site will have about 30 pages. On about 20 of those pages will be a bio of a designer or artist we carry and maybe 4 thumbnails that I will use lightbox popups with. If I put in pictures as placeholders is there a drawback?

I thought it was the appropriate place because what I am really asking is will the code really change that much when I switch over to the real images. I'm thinking it will change just a little but I would like to hear from experienced designers who may have done it both ways and have some insights a newbie like me could benefit from. I don't want to rewrite large chunks of code if I don't have to.
