Should I upgrade legend from r5 to r7?

Should I upgrade legend from r5 to r7? My friend gave me a r7 card but is worth it?

If your system is working fine, ther is no real reason, unless you want some of the features in R7 that aren't in R5. (It's not like Microsoft)

R7 allowed use of MERLIN MESSAGING, and a few other enhancements.

R5 used to by my Version of Choice.

So, if you are not putting in MERLIN MESSAGING, I don't see a need to upgrade this.

But of course, if you have the latest SPM Software, you can do it with ease.

If you have the upograde to R7 - go ahead and use it - you won't lose anything - and you will gain some upgraded features. Just remember to - beforehand (the upgrade) - do a full backup to WinSPM and update that back-up translation to R7 - using WinSPM. If you do not have the R9 version of WinSPM - download and install the patch upgrades available on the Avaya.com website.

When you upgrade the processor it will do a "frigid" start right after the upgrade - which will wipe out all existing programming on the processor. So doing the backup and file update before the upgrade is critical - unless you want to reprogram from scratch.
