Previously had a 20 WinXP computer peer-to-peer network with Win98 computer holding shared files. Had periodic trouble with file corruption.
Updated main computer to Ubuntu and no longer have file corruption, but I periodically get dropped connections, with a computer losing it's access to files in the network.
Unsure if this is a network hardware (wiring, etc) problem, or due to my peer-to-peer setup with 20 computers.
Don't want to go to Windows Server, so I'm wondering if I need a Linux Server installation for the main computer. Where can I find straight forward, simple instructions to help me make this happen - if I should?
