I have been reading about how to speed up Access in a windows 8.1 Lan.
I found an article that recommended in the tables that are text, to set the unicode to Yes.

I looked in my primary table for customers. I see that all my text fields Unicode's are set to Yes exceot
for a couple that say NO. The lastname and firstname have a unicode of NO.

I only use Latin mode and not Arabic. Should I change those two fields to YES unicode ?

Thanks

Don't know why those two fields would be set to 'No,' unless you set it as such, as the default for Text, Memo and Hyperlink Fields is 'Yes.' Not really sure how much speed will be enhanced, but all Latin characters will be compressed, when stored, and take up less space, according to Access help. So, yes, change them back to 'Yes.'
