Should i install SMS on PDC?

I'm just evaluating SMS and have a problem.
Shoud i install SMS on PDC?
Once i installed SMS on a standalone server and the other PCs can't find logon point.But if i installed SMS on PDC,the clients can find the server and it's ok.
So,i must install SMS on PDC or BDC,shouldn't i?

Do not install SMS 2.0 on any DC. When you create your site boundries SMS will find the DC's in your site and create the logon point share and install SMS.

Do SMS find DCs in the site quickly after finishing installation?
Can i set up logon point manually?
