Hi: I am now working as a consultant for small businesses. Should I deploy my Access database solutions to them using Runtime or should I have them get MS Access. I don't think any of these clients are the type that will want to spend any time messing with code or altering the database. What is recommended?

Thank you!

Karen

Full Access is handy if you are onsite and they are having an issue, you can debug the session that is having the issue. That said if they don't have Access, they probably have not paid for the license and it may be costly to upgrade. If you go runtime, you should put extra effort into error handlers, possibly logging things centrally. The other thing I would be concerned about is compact and repair. Most certainly I would say at least one or two power users should have the full product so you can talk them through any odd issues that come up. Murphy's law says not only will they have a corruption issue it will be during the vacation you take overseas...

Those thoughts aside, I have rarely used the runtime.
