Help, I'm trying to calculate some information from two fields in goldmine:
- the first field contains a financial amount on outstanding accounts - i would like to add the figures in this field to tell me the total outstanding balance for the company
- the second field is a calculation field that adds a percentage to the outstanding account depending on its age - again i would like to calculate a total figure
------------do i calculate this by filters or by an SQL query, either way my knowledge of filters is minimal and my knowledge of SQL is even less - could anybody let me have a solution as at present i have to add the individual accounts manually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks Melanie

What is the purpose of calculating these amounts? in other words once they are calculated, what are you going to DO with them?

Are you going to update a database? Just look at the figures for informational purposes? Or what?

I'm only going to use the figures for information only - they are for managing a department not interacting with goldmine-- does this help

Ta Melanie

Can you simply use Crystal reports as the vehicle to get at this data? If so you don't need to know any SQL.
