Please excuse my lack on knowledge, I'm relly new to all this.

We are a small home-based business in Australia - well 2 businesses.

We currently have 2 phone numbers assigned to our home phone with different ring tones depending on what number has been called.

Upstairs there is one phone outlet that has a phone connected.

Downstairs there is another phone outlet (extension of the upstairs?) and we have a phone/fax, an ADSL modem and EFTPOS machine connected to this
outlet.

We are looking at getting a phone system and have seen a second hand Panasonic KX-TA308.

What we must have is:
A simple solution - we're renting and can't do too much cabling etc.
ADSL modem must still work.
At least 2 separate lines so Business 1 & Business 2 can both be on the phone at the same time.
To be able to forward a fax to the fax machine.

What we'd like:
To be able to send a fax while on the phone.
To be able to use the EFTPOS machine while on the phone.
Voice mail.
Call waiting.

So my questions are:
Would the KX-TA308 be able to do this (I assume so)?
Would we need more external phone lines installed (I hope not)?
How much internal cabling would be required?
Can I install it myself?
If not, how much would installation be (ball-park)?

Thanks
Kenton

soundslike you need a ringmate box and a couple of 2 line
sets with intercom!

TA308 will do all that you need and is a good system. minimal wiring is needed if you have 4 wires to each socket
(if you are using Proprietry phones)so that you can use all of the features provided easily
I would recommend that you have it installed by an accredited Dealer/Installer as programming can be tricky if you don't have experience
Price would depend on how much wiring and what an installer would charge per Hour(depends on where you are)
if no extra wiring It should only take a couple of hours at the most to install
