Here is my dilemma.............
Last week I replicated my database in error. What I did was create a replica set (Design Master, Rep1, Rep2, & Rep3) on our network, connected the laptops (via network cable) and dragged & dropped the Rep1,2,3 files to the corresponding laptops (1,2,3).
I've been told that in the replication creation process I needed to connect the laptops and place (save to each corresponding replica file DIRECTLY to each laptop (Rep1 on Laptop1, etc.). Dragging the replica files onto the laptops would cause corruption and cause them to lose its replicability.
I thought that those restrictions only applied to the Design Master file...., anywho, what's done is done.
Now I need to figure out how to get the updates that were made during the past week and apply them to the Design Master file. I'm afraid that I will have to print all the records on paper from the 3 laptops and manually input them into the Design Master. Then delete the 3 replicas and create 3 new replicas from the Design Master. Will I run into any problems creating 3 new replicas from the Design Master after I manually update it.
If anyone can advise me on if the above is my only option or if there is something else I do, I would appreciate it. I suppose this is the best way to learn, by totally SCREWING things up!!! UGH!!! Thanks, Kim
