Shortened a document URL - Sharepoint 2010

Hi All,

I need some assistance. I want to share the url of a document with a group of users but the link is so long. Is there any way to shortened?

I read online that there is a shorten url icon but it does't appear in my version of Sahrepoint 2010.

Any advice?
