Ok, trying to set up a Master-Shorcut scenario as follows, Report 1 will be in a master folder and I want to create a shortcut to report 1 in folders EOS & BDS, Security on Master for everyone is AL - Inherited Rights, NA - SCHEDULE, Security on Sub Folders is the same, is this the correct set up??? Very new to administration of BO and any help would be greatly appreciated.

This seems ok to me. Here's the thing to remember, even though a user may have more (or less!) access to the objects in the folder where the shortcut is located, the user's access to the report the shortcut points to is based on the folder where the report itself is located.

Also, something to think about when you're setting up security - although you can set access at the individual user and indiviual report levels, best practice is to configure security at the User Group and Folder level. So ALL users will be assigned to one or more Groups (in addition to Everyone) and the Groups will be given access to the folders. This makes it MUCH easier to maintain, as well as making it easy to set up userA "just like" userB - you just assign the same groups rather than having to go to the individual reports to see if userB has access.
