Hi,

I am having trouble opening my dB which is on a network drive in read only mode. I am using the shortcut type below. It opens OK when user & pwd are full permissions but when read only permission user & pwd are substituted I get the following message

"Microsoft Office Access is unable to open the data access page
The path specified was invalid, or it may be too long
Please check the path and ensure it is correct"

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE" "P:\Folder\dBName.mdb"/wrkgrp "P:\Folder\Security.mdw" /user "xxx" /pwd "xxx"

Is this part of Access security? Any way around it?
Cheers,
millrat

check to see if the non permissions username has rights to open the db at all.
