shortcut not deleted from folder

Hello All,

I have a problem:

I had removed an application by add/remove programs and its totally removed. But the shortcuts still exists in the location Start Menu\Programs\Accessories folder. (original location when application is installed). The shortcut doesn't have any value but on double clicking it prompts window saying that application is being removed do you want to delete the shortcut or no. How can i eliminate this problem.
Your help will be truly appreciated.

Why not simply remove the shortcut ?
