Hi,
I'm aware Oracle have a built in shortcut keys like F10...etc. but....
I'm having a problem in making my own shortcut keys...
for example , i press alt+T , the cursor will go to the particular field and when i press alt+F , the cursor will go to another field.

Can it be done in oracle... can somebody help me...

Thank you
Anne

Try to change your terminal file. Regards, Dima

thank you for your answer.... but what terminal file? ,
where i can find this ?
.. sorry i'm not familiar with this...

There's a program Oracle Terminal (shipped with Forms), that allows to edit .res files. These binary files contain information on key bindings. If you run your application on the web, text file is used, so it may be edited manually. In Forms 6i for Win the program is called OT60 and .res files are located in tools\common60.

You may pass the name of .res file to Forms runtime as parameter. The default value depends on your language and environment. Regards, Dima

I got your point but It looks like difficult , do you have a sample code... i mean in calling a parameter....
i'm using oracle6i in Windows....

i really can't figure it out... thanks a lot...

You pass FILENAME as a parameter, but the file should exist. The syntax is
ifrun60 term=<terminal file> module=<fmx file> Regards, Dima

hi , it's me again...
is there some other way to have a shortcut key except using Oracle terminal....?,
I mean using oracle pl/sql, can i do a shortcut key like for example... alt+T.. will put my cursor to a telephone fieldbox? can it be done in pl/sql directly ?

thanks again
Jhoann

You can not navigate to the item by shortcut, but you may define it for Button by specifying Access Key property. Pressing Alt+<key> will cause wbp trigger to be executed. An ugly thoug working decision it to create a number of null-size not navigable buttons with the actions and shortcuts you need. Regards, Dima

wow..you're right, it works in button..
what do you mean by this ? how to do this ?:
An ugly thoug working decision it to create a number of null-size not navigable buttons with the actions and shortcuts you need.

sorry, i have so many questions...

Suppose you need to navigate to Telephone field upon pressing alt+T.
You may create a button on the same canvas, make it not navigable, set its width, height to 0,0 and Access Key to T, and then create when-button-pressed trigger as
go_item('Telephone') Regards, Dima

wow You're so smart.... thanks for the idea...!!!

you deserve a cheers!

THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH!
