HI Guys,

I have a customer who would like to use a shortcode to dial out the ISDN and show one of there DDI numbers.

The ISDN are BT (British Telecom)infrastructure but are supplied by another line provider.
They have got a range of DDI numbers example: 0234XXXXX00 to 0234XXXXX09. The numbers work when I point them to a User or group and dial into the system but when I try to display a ddi out it will not work?.

System software build 7.0 (5)

I set up a shortcode;
Code #82
Feature Dial
Telephone number .S0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

It didnt work
So I tried

Code #82
Feature Dial
Telephone number .Si0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

I set up a shortcode;
Code #82
Feature Dial
Telephone number .s0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

I set up a shortcode;
Code #82N
Feature Dial
Telephone number NS0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

I set up a shortcode;
Code #82N
Feature Dial
Telephone number NSi0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

I set up a shortcode;
Code #2
Feature Dial
Telephone number NS0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

I set up a shortcode;
Code *2
Feature Dial
Telephone number NSi0234XXXXX09
Line Group 0

and so on. Nothing was working soo I picked a User and put a shortcode under that User
Dial ?
Feature Dial
Telephone Number .S0234XXXXX09
Line group 0

That didnt work. I did Manage to show one of the ddi numbers by diverting a Dummy user back out with a shortcode but nothing will work for a shortcode or an internal user dialing out.

Would anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

You'll probably need to match the digits received (some exchanges are picky), typically that's 6 with BT.

So SC - ?
Feature - Dial
Tel no - .s123456

Always works for me :)

Yeah I did try .s123456 but the number still wouldnt show on outgoing?

The line provider is not very helpfull and just keep saying the the customer that the switch should route that out but they can not tell me if COLP is enabled?
When I tested with a dummy Voip Extension I managed to display a DDI so COLP must be enabled.
I have asked a number of questions to the line provider to see what they come back with
1. How many ISDN Lines are there.
2. What DDI numbers are on ISDN2e Lines
3. Are the DDI numbers carried over all both lines

When I tested with a dummy Voip Extension I managed to display a DDI so COLP must be enabled

That would suggest it's your config then, what did you do differently on that user/what is different about that user to make it work? :)
