Hi

what is the different between short and long signalling format?

Mx-One 4.1 sp3

Will cards work fine in short mode?
What decides if card is short/long?

if you are talking about group switch -long is for new h/w ie GJUG5 and new type GJUL4/1 which supports 90 byte sig -long
old GJUG4's and GJUL only support 43 bytes

Old device boards use the short signalling format. Long format was introduced some time ago (Possibly BC8 but I can't remember)and all new boards should use long format.

There is a known issue with 4.1 SP3 after upgrade with ELU28/3 starting up in short format and causing issues with DTS.
This is fixed i SP4 'ELU28 initialised as "short" signalling format after board_config -insert'

There is a manual procedure for making short format ELU28 into long format but it involves manual editing the backup data for DCP.
