Short file name error

Setup

Win Nt server with SP6 and IIS 4.0 (with no patches)
Have a current back-up of ovdata.
Over the weekend IIS became corrupt. Today we reinstalled IIS and have tried to install NNM 6.2.

Problem
At 72% we get the following error:

Erro Converting "C:\HP Openview\NNM\databases\analysis\default" to short file names.

We have went into Poledit and checked the local policy and everything seems fine there.

Any ideas???????

Yea, its a MS problem. Did you patch up IIS and NT before you installed NNM. Sometimes you need to apply patches before you install apps, then re-apply the patch after the app is installed. This would also apply to NNM as well.

Of all the MS servers out there in the world, I am amazed at all the problems that are posted. Comparing that to Unix and Novell forums.

That is what we did. we reinstalled IIS with a current patch and reloaded NNM, patched that and everything worked fine. We are going to migrate our Openview to a Sun server in a few months, after we get the approval. I'm sure things will be much nicer then!!!
