I need to set up a short code that will do the following:

Take the incoming DID call which the LEC is sending 3 digits, and add and "8" to it. My station numbers are going to be 85XX and the DID numbers are 05XX. We need to do this because of our dial plan. I am unfamilar with how Short Codes work, but Avaya is saying this is what needs to be used.

Shouldn't need to go near shortcodes. You need Incoming Route Entries that take each DID 5XX and routes to 85XX as the Destination.

Unfortunately you need one for each DID number but to help set them all up use the MSN/DID tool in Manager (load the config and then select Tools | MSN/DID Configuration). If all your DID's and extensions are sequential, enter the first, select the matching extension and set the number of DID you have. Clicking on Add will then create an Incoming Route Entry for each, stepping the DID and extension by 1 for each entry.
