Hi,

In the UK directory enquires numbers have changed, they all begin 118***. However as they vary differently in cost, we want to force the use of a particular service.

At the moment I have set-up a new LCR with the following set-up:

118888
.
dial

118N
.
busy

However if a user tries to dial a different provider, rather than hear the busy tone, I would like to redial the 118888 service. I tried to achieve this by doing the following:

118N
118888
dial

However the numbers represented by the N are automatically appended to 118888. We are running version 1.1, is there a bug with the release?

What you are doing is correct, but I would not have these codes in the LCR table. Rather add them in the system short code. See if this makes any difference.

hope this helps

routermad,

Thanks for the reply. Glad I wasn't missing anything silly; I will be upgrading to version 1.4 before the end of this month, hopefully that will fix things.

Do you mind me asking why I shouldn't use LCR? I did have the code in the Short Codes, but management wanted to restrict access to the services. This would have meant editing a lot of user profile's, whereas now I just use the users priority. Is there any performance issues with this?

Many thanx in advance,

Mark

keep the chortcode in LCR, it will meean only one change if prices change.

Do the extra digits being sent to line cause a problem? I would expect the network to be routing on the first 6 digits anyway.
you could try making the short code 118XXX to wait for 3 digits & see if this helps

IPGurn,

Many thanks for your reply. The extra digits were causing a problem. If someone tried to dial 118707, then the Avaya tries to dial 118888707.

However I did as you suggested and changed the rule to 118XXX, this worked perfectly!!

Do you mind me asking were the X character is documented? I looked through all the manuals I have and could not find it.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply,

Mark

check the help files in manager, it is there for 1.4 I dont know about earlier versions though
