Short Codes for Outside lines

Hey all,

An easy question that I'm sure someone with experience will be able to answer. I've got a few shortcodes to dial an outside number.

Shortcode:[9]xxxxxx
Telephone Number: Ns208622E

So, this works great for dialing and sending the number being dialed from. BUT, I also have a short code with corresponding x's for LD and international calls. So, I have a bunch of [9]xxx.... short codes. Is it possible to consolidate them at all into one short code?

Thanks for the info,

dw

The simple answer is yes but usually there are different codes for different things. I live in the noth east US and we have to dial 1 for almost all calls so we can get away with a couple of short codes. We use [9]1N; and [9]0N;. i would say not to remove anything unless you know exacctly why it was put in there.

Hi daniel
looking at your number that you send you are not in North America and looking at your name Germany comes to mind, if that is tru then you start your long disdtance calls with 0 and your numbers are different in lenght for area code AND for numbers so you could use
[9]N;
dial
N

for local calls and
[9]0N;
dial
0N

for your long distance and the timeout in the system determines when the system thinks the dialing is finished and then it starts dialing.

Unless you have a need to send different call types (i.e. local/LD/international) over different lines/routes the only short code you need is:
9N;
Dial
N

This will let you dial 1 digit or 30 after the 9 so long as you don't pause longer than your dial delay time.
(if you use 4.0 or later you really shouldn't be using the [] in your short codes).
