Hi,
Relatively new to shoretel. Would like to take the demo kits to customer site but would like to change ip scheme of demo to connect to customer network and at one remote site register a phone over an existing vpn. Is this eay to do, any advice appreciated.

I don't think you will be able to do this unless they have changed the way the demo kit is setup. All of the apps and demo tools are setup to use the static IP addresses that the demo kit is setup with. I tried changing mine and it went bonkers. I had to end up using a layer 3 switch so I could build simple routable network in order to set it up on the customers network. This can of course become really sticky in some situations though.

I haven't used the new demo kit so I am not sure if the same rules apply or not.

I'd advise against changing the IP's unless you're looking to reinstall or wade through the registry. The director software is coded to use the static ip and you will run into alot of issues if you change it. If you really want to demo on their network I would get a layer 3 switch or a router and do it that way. We have a vpn concentrator setup and all we need is to take a laptop and a vpn phone and we can do the whole demo with that.

Thankyou for the feedback. We did try a few things with the IP changes but as mentioned it caused more issues/headaches than originally thought. Customer has VPN tunnels from 3 sites and we used that for "phone quality only" after changing the SG90 IP.
this worked well but Vmail did not, as expected. Main object was for remote sites to connect using non VPN capable phones.
We are in the process of ordering a VPN concentrator. Next is to register SIP trunks without!! Ingate.
Thanks again, sorry for the delay in responding.
