i need to learn raid 5. i'm not that familiar with disksuit and i would like to practice on my own machine. i don't have the convenience to practice at work.

You could create 3 partitions on one disk and do RAID5 across them, if it's just to practice? The performance would be terrible, but the principles are the same.

Annihilannic.

Any way to get hold of VxVM to practise ?

I'm also practising on a Ultra10 at home.

I think Veritas offeres 30 day evaluation copies of their software. But once that 30 days is up it will stop working until you enter a license, so I would not use it on your root drives or anything.
