I am a newbie and want to add a shopping cart to my site, and have been looking into does anyone have any thoughts on this? Would this be the easiest way/least amount of time do accomplish this?

That does look pretty easy. First ting - check with the company that set you up with a merchant account. Usually that company will also offer a hosted shopping cart as well & will be very easy to integrate.
