Hi guys, I need some help with some VBA and this seems the place to get it

I have a powerpoint presentation that needs to be done by tomorrow and im stumped on one last thing

it users director .dcr video files inserted with shockwave active x controls in PP 2003.

they play fine and loop as they should but there is a major issue - its when you want to return to a previous slide which has already been "used"

when you click on previous slide it does not reload the video/activex control - it just appears as a grey box

please help obi wan kenobi!

is there a way to get VBA to reload/refresh the shockwave active x control?

if so how?!

Many thanks in advance!

im afraid that it wont help as that is for "shockwave flash objects" and i use "shockwave activex control" for .dcr videos

thanks tho!

How about creating the slide in code , then using buttons to move back and forward to trigger this code ?

something like

Slide 1 - real slide
Slide 2 - real slide + event on forward button to create
Slide 3 - created by code
SLide 4 - real silde + event on backwards button to create side 3

or even using the nextslide event to trigger the build.

FIXED!

the active x control "control.dll" in the "system32\macromed\shockwave 10" folder needed to be unregistered then re-registered

(obviously make sure you have the latest shockwave player installed: dont get this confused with the the flash player)

then all activex control boxes needed to be deleted from the presentation and re-inserted

this fixes pretty much everything to do with shockwave .dcr's being inserted to powerpoint

ive looked hard and this fix is no where else on the net to be found

theres no apprent reason as to why this dll isnt registered properly in the first place - even from fresh install -

tried on 3 different machines
1 with 64bit vista office 2007
1 with 32bit vista office 2007
1 with 32bit xp office 2003

the fixed worked in every case
