Hi,
I need to check for shockwave and redirect if they don't have it. Anyone have a good script or way to handle this? It needs to work on all recent browsers/platforms though.
Thanks,
PT

Hi,

Do you actually need to test for the version of shockwave or just the fact they actually have got it?

Cheers

James

Just whether or not they have it, if they don't I want to send them to a static page, if they do then I'll send them on to the shockwave page.
Thanks,
PT

Hi,

Its very easy then.

Create a page, and in it have the following two items:

A) A meta-tag redirection set to redirect after X seconds

B) A 1 frame flash shockwave movie. In that one frame, put a redirect to whatever page you need.

Therefore when the user comes to this page, if they have flash shockwave installed, then the movie will redirect them

If they dont, then the meta-tag redirect will still redirect them

Simple, and no special coding required

James
