shmmax parameter

I need to increase th shmmax parameter to 2MB from it's current size of 524,288 for other software to work. I have SCO/Unix Open Server Enterprise 5.06a.

I was told to do: /etc/conf/bin/idtune -f shmmax 2000000

and then rebuild the kernal by

/etc/conf/cf.d/link_unix

This was from
I get no errors when I enter the first command; but when I try to rebuild the kernal I get:

ERROR: Unknown tuneable parameter shmmax

FATAL ERROR: Error encountered. Configuration terminated.

That is not a valid tuneable for OS5. It appears on older SCO versions (ODT, 3.2.4.2 and Xenix) and, curiously, on UW7. Pat Welch, UBB Computer Services
