gurus,
i am using suse 9 enterprise and i am trying to change the shmmax at /etc/sysctl.conf. however, even if i reboot the machine after adjusting, it seems that it does not take effect. Where should i really put the variable to adjust this kernel memory?
thanks!

thanks alot for you reply. I tried to find the loader.conf at /boot but then there is no such file. Should i need to create my own file then under this directory? if so, what would be the format? is it kernel.shmmax= xxx?

Sorry, hope to hear form you soon, coz i really need to change this parameter.

thanks in advance
